Raised On Boogie

(Eigil Berg)

Left my educator, see you later, Alligator

Come and see me at the Hollywood Bowl

Great balls of fire can't get me no higher

I'm ready for some rock'n'roll

I put on my blue suede shoes

To that ol' mean woman blues

Got a livin' lovin' doll to satisfy my soul

Tell me how could I ever lose

I was raised on boogie

Raised on rock'n'roll

Because I got my education and my sweet inspiration

When the scene got out of control

I was raised on boogie

Raised on rock'n'roll

'Cause there's a whole lotta shakin' and I just ain't fakin'

So c'mon let the good tines roll

I met ol' Rockin' Robin, did a lot o' hobnobbin'

Fell in love with Maybellene

She had a funky little sister what a mean ol' twister

One and only sweet little sixteen

There was a whole lot o' mess of blues

'Til I put on my dancin' shoes

I got ready ready teddy and the beat got steady

Tell me how could I ever lose
