"TILL THE SONG IS GONE" var et bestillingsverk til Trond Granlunds "Pleasure And Tears"-album i 1992.

Till The Song Is Gone

(Eigil Berg)

We’ve been around for quite a while now

We’ve seen the seasons come and go

We’ve been livin’ those highway blues

Through the rain and the snow

Give me a roadhouse and a party

Yeah, give me some boogie till the break of dawn

And we’ll keep on singin’ the song

Till the song is gone

There’s been quite a bit honky tonkin’

At every juke joint and café

Well, have you heard the news

There’s good rockin’ today

And if you think did we regret it

Son, you couldn’t have been more wrong

We just keep on singin’ the song

Till the song is gone

Did you “Say We’re Not Apart” to your “Girl Sixteen”

Or were you “Driftin’” with your “Eloise”

I’d say songs like that are as close to the image

As The Hillbilly Cat is to pompadour grease

So don’t you ask when we’ll retire

Don’t you ask when we’ll be gone

We’ve had our ups and downs

But we know where we belong

Give me some good old country music

Yeah, give me some old time rock’n’roll

And we’ll keep on singin’ the song

Till the song is gone

Did your “Rock Machine” “Turn On To The Music”

In “1958”

Well, I heard about a king who was doin’ swell

And that’s what made the balls of fire great!

We’ve been around for quite a while now

We’ve seen the seasons come and go

We’ve been livin’ those highway blues

Through the rain and the snow

Give me a road house and a party

Yeah, give me some old time rock’n’roll

And we’ll keep on singin’ the song

Till the song is gone

Give me some good old country music

Give me some old time rock’n’roll

And we’ll keep on singin’ the song

We just keep on singin’ the song

We’ll keep on singin’ the song

Till the song is gone
